Producing Artistic Director, Penelope Reed, and Managing Director, Arin Sullivan, are pleased to announce the merger of the Jasper Deeter Corporation (doing business as Hedgerow Theatre) and the Hedgerow Foundation, effective June 4, 2008.

The Hedgerow Theatre has had the use of the grist mill theatre from the Hedgerow Foundation since 1986 when the Foundation was formed. The Foundation oversaw the rebuilding of the theatre after the arson fire in 1985 while the Jasper Deeter Corporation has maintained the building and overseen all other phases of the theatre’s operation.

Uniting the two organizations strengthens Hedgerow Theatre by enabling the staff to seek funding and much needed historic preservation and improvements to the 1840 theatre building as well as funding to upgrade the facility.

Ms. Reed said, “How wonderful it is that, in our 85th anniversary year, the family of Hedgerow came together. Since 1923, generations of actors have found Hedgerow an oasis, a haven for the talented and a springboard for future careers. This merging represents a coming together for a strong future.”

Ms. Sullivan stated, “We were thrilled to reunite with the Hedgerow Foundation which was so successful in raising the funds to rebuild the theatre. We will continue their good work in maintaining the historic site and improving the grist mill building where the theatre is housed.” Ms. Sullivan added, “We will be seeking input from members of the community about how we can improve their theatre-going experience.”

The Hedgerow Foundation board members, now emeritus or active Hedgerow Theatre board members are: Janet Kelsey, Susan Wefel, William Porter, Moira Rankin, Yvonne Vincic, Joseph E. Lastowka, and Richard Salomon.
