Body of Water Is Third Play Of Season At Act II Playhouse

For Immediate Release: January 4, 2008
Media Contact: Ted Taylor, Act II Playhouse, 215.576.7212

“Body of Water” by one of America’s premier playwrights, Lee Blessing, is the third play of the 2007-08 season at Act II Playhouse. The run begins with previews on January 22 and continues until February 17.

Director Gene Roland Frank Ph.D., who is also Associate Artistic Director at Act II, said, “We selected Lee Blessing’s, A Body of Water, because we were drawn to the main premise of the play: What happens if a man and a woman wake up in the same bed with no knowledge of who they are, how they got there, or why they are there? Add to this situation, the appearance of a mysterious young woman who may or may not be the couple’s daughter and the possibilities for conflicts escalate. At the center of the turmoil is a total lack of memory for both the man and the woman. Not short term or long term memory, but a complete void of all discernible reference points. The couple’s only salvation is the personal information provided by the mysterious young woman; and, at times, even her motives are suspect.”

The play stars Buck Shirner as Moss, Cynthia Raff as Avis and Emma O’Donnell as Wren.

Prior to the previews, there will be a dress rehearsal on Sunday, January 29 at 5 PM open to the community and benefiting Inter-Faith Housing Alliance which is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization established in May 1982 as a response to the emergency needs of homeless and low-income families in Montgomery County, PA..
