The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater Presents Three Days of Rain For Immediate Release: January 3, 2008
January is bringing rain to the stage of The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater...literally. The technical wizards at the theater have taken on the challenge of making it rain on stage for their production of Richard Greenberg’s Pulitzer-nominated romantic drama, Three Days of Rain. But the surprises don't stop with the weather. Any good historian will tell you that understanding our past is key to understanding our present. So, what happens when an undiscovered past is suddenly revealed? In Act One, we meet the siblings who will learn the answer to that question. On the eve of the reading of their father's will, they learn that their inheritance includes a mysterious diary that may help solve the puzzles of their past. In Act Two we see firsthand the events recorded in the diary and learn what secrets history holds. The same actors play both generations – switching from the children to the parents in Act Two. Julia Roberts made her Broadway debut in this intriguing character study, and it has attracted many other famous performers – including Elizabeth McGovern, Colin Firth and Paul Rudd. The Players Club production of this wry but penetrating portrait of six unforgettable characters stars Sean Roach and Heather Dyas-Fried of Woodlyn and Benjamin Kanes of Haverford. Three Days of Rain runs January 3-6, 10-13, and 17-19. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 8pm and Sunday matinées are at 2pm. The Players Club of Swarthmore is located just minutes from the Blue Route and I-95 at 614 Fairview Avenue in Swarthmore. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students (18 and under or college students with ID).
