The N Crowd Celebrates 1 Year of Shows At The Actors Center

For Immediate Release: June 15, 2007
Media Contact: B.J. Ellis, The N Crowd, 610.505.4019

The N Crowd, Philadelphia’s, premiere improv comedy troupe, is celebrating one year of weekly shows at the Actors Center starting this August. Although the troupe has been performing since April 2005, The N Crowd moved to its current home at the Actors Center in August 2006. Previously, their weekly shows could be seen first at 213 New Street and the Society Hill Playhouse. Now, they can be seen every week at the Actors Center located at 257 North 3rd Street. During their current run, The N Crowd has also celebrated two important milestones in their existence: their 100th performance and the 2 year anniversary of their first performance. Immediately following these set of shows, The N Crowd will be participating in the 2007 Philly Fringe Festival with a series of double features.

While shows are usually at 8 p.m., for the first 3 weeks of August, The N Crowd shows will start 30 minutes later at a special start time of 8:30 p.m. Business Manager B.J. Ellis explains, “With so many people traveling at the end of summer in August, traffic is going to certainly be messier during this month. So we pushed the show back 30 minutes so our audience can arrive on time and not miss a single minute of our show.”

Join the N Crowd as they celebrate one year worth of shows at their current home, The Actors Center. Besides their weekly shows, The N Crowd has appeared at The Grape Street Pub, The Troc Balcony Bar, Fergies Pub, Mélange Theater Live, the Renaissance Academy in Phoenixville, and Eastern University. They have also performed at fundraisers for Naked Feet Productions, Vagabond Productions, Village Productions, and Independence Charter School. Local newspapers have called The N Crowd “Philadelphia’s premier improv comedy troupe” (Philadelphia Style Magazine) and “Giving the city a much needed giggle” (Philadelphia Weekly).
