Bristol Riverside Theatre in association with the Bucks County Jazz Festival will be a host venue for three jazz artists, June 15-17 at the Theatre, 120 Radcliffe Street, in Historic Bristol Borough. This is the second year of the Bucks County Jazz Festival and the second year BRT has hosted a weekend of Jazz.

The Eric Mintel Quartet performs live in concert at the Bristol Riverside Theater Friday June 15 at 8:00pm. Fresh out of the studio the quartet has just released their 7th CD "Times Change" featuring original music by Eric, songs by Dave Brubeck and Marian McPartland. Dave Brubeck wrote the liner notes as did Maxx Myrick jazz program director of XM Satellite Radio. The Eric Mintel Quartet will perform songs from the new CD as well as new compositions recently written as well as reworked jazz standards. Joining pianist and composer Eric Mintel will be Nelson Hill alto sax, Dave Antonow bass and Dave Mohn drums. Details of this and the quartet's extensive schedule can be found at www.EricMintelQuartet.com. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students.

Saturday, June 16, BRT welcomes Bucks County Jazz Festival headliner Cassandra Wilson for two performances, at 6:00pm and 9:30pm. The 1996 Grammy Winner for Best Jazz Vocal Album brings her smooth as honey alto vocals to the BRT stage, in a fundraising event for the Delaware Valley Chapter for the Alzheimer’s Association. Cassandra Wilson’s selections range from jazz and blues standards to renditions of pop and rock hits, and are sure to leave a smile on your face and a song in your heart. More information about Ms. Wilson can be found on her website, www.cassandrawilson.com. Regular priced tickets are $55, and VIP tickets including balcony seating with wine & cheese are available for $95.

The Jim Ridl Trio of New Jersey rounds out the weekend with a Father’s Day Matinee at 3:00pm, on Sunday, June 17. Piano and Keyboard Magazine called pianist/composer Jim Ridl a "fresh individual voice in jazz piano, sure to make among the first indelible marks in the jazz millennium." Having performed and recorded on the national and international jazz scene for over 15 years with many jazz artists, Ridl’s experiences growing up on a farm on the American Plains and subsequent urban life continue to shape his creative and innovative music. His upcoming release “Door in a Field” combines jazz, classical and Americana in original compositions recorded with jazz trio and strings. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students.
