Barnstormers Theater Presents The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)

For Immediate Release: January 13, 2007
Media Contact: Ruth K. Brown, Barnstormers Theater, 443.320.3292

Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) Written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield Directed by David Ament This show embodies one of comedy’s most essential impulses: the adolescent urge to take a baseball bat to the culturally revered. A mix of pratfalls, puns, willful misreading of names and dialogue, clunky female impersonations, clean-cut ribaldry, and broad burlesque. The gung-ho vitality is impossible to resist. The conversion of histories into a football game is very funny. So is a rap version of OTHELLO. HAMLET truly soars as the actors become clowns. At its giddiest, its tone recalls the fabled Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon series.

Performance Dates are: January 26, 27, February 2, 3, 9 and 10 at 8pm Matinee date is: February 4 at 2pm Tickets: Adults - $10, Youth (under 18) - $5, and Senior Citizens $8
