The N Crowd will perform its 100th show on Friday, January 26, 2007 at The Actor’s Center in Old City, its weekly show’s home since August. The performance will include special appearances by former members and other surprises.

The short-form improvisational comedy troupe, one of few performing weekly in the city, began in April of 2005 with a six month stint of weekly shows at Spirit Wind Internal Arts Society on New Street, just around the corner from the N Crowd’s current home. The weekly shows then moved to The Red Room at The Society Hill Playhouse before the troupe found its new home at The Actor’s Center. Teamed with these weekly shows, the troupe reached 100 performances with the help of outside appearances including The Philadelphia Improv Festival in 2005 and 2006, performances at Fergie’s Pub’s Improv Sundays, three months with The Melange Theatre in West Philadelphia, shows for the Free Library of Philadelphia, a run with the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in 2005, and shows at The Grape Street Pub, The Trocadero Theater’s Balcony Bar, Eastern University and The Renaissance School in Valley Forge. The N Crowd has also offered its services at fundraisers for Naked Feet Productions, The Vagabond Acting Troupe, and Village Productions.

The N Crowd was the runner up for both Best Theatre Group and Best Comedy Club in Philadelphia Style Magazine’s 2006 poll. The group has also gained praise from The Philadelphia Daily News, theatre reviews and college newspapers.
