Much Ado About Nothing A comedy by William Shakespeare Directed by Jennifer John For Immediate Release: June 22, 2006 The Delaware Shakespeare Festival returns for a fourth season to present William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing directed by Jennifer John from July 28 to August 12, 2006 at our new festival location - Rockwood Park ! The exquisite Rockwood Mansion and its lush gardens will serve as an ideal backdrop for the DSF mainstage production. And it's right off the Marsh Road exit of I-95 - just over the border from Pennsylvania. Much Ado About Nothing remains one of Shakespeare's most enduring plays. Triumphantly returning from war, Don Pedro and his soldiers stop to rest at the home of Leonato only to find themselves engaging in the "merry wars" of love. Young lovers Hero and Claudio are to be married in one week. To pass the time, they conspire with Don Pedro to set a "lover's trap" for Benedick, an arrogant confirmed bachelor, and Beatrice, his favorite sparring partner. Meanwhile, the evil Don Jon conspires to break up the wedding by accusing Hero of infidelity. In the end, though, it all turns out to be "much ado about nothing". The Delaware Shakespeare Festival at Rockwood Park is a great opportunity for picnicking as you await an evening of entertaining classical theatre. We encourage you to bring blankets and low-backed lawn or beach chairs for general admission lawn seating and dine while the company sets up and the play begins. The Delaware Shakespeare Festival will present Much Ado About Nothing on July 28, 29, August 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 at 7:00pm with Sunday matinees, July 30 and August 6, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. at Rockwood Park . Audiences are encouraged to arrive an hour prior to dine and enjoy pre-show activities. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $8 general admission.
