Broadway Couple Returns to Bristol Riverside Theatre for BABY For Immediate Release: April 12, 2006 Bristol Riverside Theatre (BRT) is proud to announce the return of Broadway stars Brad Little and Barbara McCulloh in it’s production of Maltby and Shire’s BABY, running from May 2 through May 21, 2006 at BRT, in Historic Bristol Borough. Mr. Little is best know for his numerous years portraying the title role in national and international of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, most recently in the Far East. Ms. McCulloh starred opposite Lou Diamond Phillips in The King and I and as Mrs. Darling in the Cathy Rigby production of Peter Pan. Brad and Barbara met on the Bristol Riverside Theatre stage in 1988 when they starred opposite each other in The Robber Bridegroom, and later together in Irma La Douce, before being married on Labor Day, 1992, and now own a home in Bristol. They have both wanted to perform BABY, for quite some time had this to say “The first time at BRT we fell in love with each other, since then we have fallen in love with the town, the people and this BABY. We are thrilled to be working together again on this stage where our lives together began”. On Saturday May 20, 2006, Brad and Barbara will be special guests after BRT’s “Brunch with BABY,” special event, available to the public. Brunch begins at 12:00 noon in the BRT atrium overlooking the Delaware River with a 2:00 p.m. performance. Brad and Barbara will sign autographs from 4:30 to 5:30PM following the May 20th matinee performance. The cost for “Brunch with BABY” is $44 per person. Barbara has appeared at BRT in 110 in the Shade (for which she received a Barrymore Award nomination), Blithe Spirit, The Philadelphia Story, Holiday, and The Skin of Our Teeth. Brad won a Barrymore Award for his performance of Che in the BRT production of Evita. Off and on over the last ten years Brad has played the role of the Phantom in theaters across America, on Broadway, and Shanghai China. At the time Brad was asked to join The Phantom of the Opera touring company, he was performing at the Majestic Theatre playing the role of Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera Broadway production. His other Broadway and National tour credits include: Cyrano, the Musical, playing the role of Captain De Castel Jaloux; Fiddler on the Roof, with Topol; the Lincoln Center production of Anything Goes directed by Jerry Zaks, in which he understudied and played the role of Billy Crocker opposite Leslie Uggams. BABY the Broadway musical that the New York Times described as “A smart, energetic show with loads of charm…that embraces rock, jazz and the best of Broadway schmaltz,” is being directed and choreographed by D.J. Salisbury, with musical direction by BRT’s Artistic Director, Edward Keith Baker.
