Philadelphia Theatre Workshop presents the world premiere of Pew Fellow, Nicholas Wardigo’s, “The Biggest Box of Crayons” For Immediate Release: April 7, 2006 Philadelphia Theatre Workshop presents The Biggest Box of Crayons a world premiere by Nicholas Wardigo 2004 Pew Fellow for Literature and Scriptworks. The personal becomes universal in this character study of a family of three generations of men, directed by Co-Artistic Director Robin Eisenberg. Containing all the elements of a modern American classic, The Biggest Box of Crayons depicts the effects of serving and not serving in war, coloring one’s own story and taking care of each other at home. Eisenberg credits playwright Nicholas Wardigo with creating characters possessed with rich emotional lives that resonate with people; they are characters with whom the audience can easily identify. “Indeed, each actor who auditioned wanted to be cast because he could relate to his character so well”. Starring Robert Cronin (Sam), Marc Shule (Carl), Jerry Puma (Pete), and Dylan Clements (Zach), The Biggest Box of Crayons explores the stories of a family of men wrestling with real and imagined memories. Fantasies of the past, reality of the present and acceptance of the future converge, presenting life colored and decorated the way they want it to be. The Biggest Box of Crayons runs April 28 – May 7, 2006 at Mum Puppettheatre, 115 Arch Street. Tickets are $20 at the door and $18 in advance.
