Vagabond Acting Troupe offers Wednesday Talk-Back Series Women With PMS Save the Human Race After Turning Blood to Fire For Killer Self Esteem, Asserts Licensed Psychologist, Doris Jeanette For Immediate Release: November 17, 2005 It all started when men thought that they were superior to women. Although the concept of white "superiority" lasted only a few hundred years, male domination of society has lasted for several millennium. Surveys of women in the workplace and the role women are expected to play in society show that even as late as 2005 women are not valued as much as those who are deemed to be unable to experience menstruation and its related symptoms. The World Premiere of PMS! A PERIOD MUSICAL, an original play created by the Vagabond Acting Troupe, confronts the issues associated with pre-menstrual symptoms. Through song, dance and some slap-stick humor, Vagabond offers the best PMS remedy on the planet from November 30- December 23 on the second stage of the Adrienne Theatre, 2030 Sansom Street, on the second floor. In addition, the troupe hosts several post-show talk-backs with area experts to open up the topic for more discussion, after each Wednesday show, December 7, 14 and 21. Dr. Doris Jeanette, an expert on women's health and mental health issues will do a Talk Back after the show, December 7th to offer self help, self esteem tips to everyone, while infamous gorgon Medusa (played by cabaret singer Hannah Tsapatoris) will present an historial perspective from the religious standpoint on December 14th after the show. The final talk-back on Wednesday, December 21 will feature a question and answer session with the playwrights and development artists. “Women's health, self esteem, mental health and sexual health issues have never been addressed by traditional medicine or psychology with effective solutions,” notes Dr. Jeanette, a pioneer in holistic mental heath. “Men made up the disease of PMS and men label emotional behaviors as crazy. Yet the mental health fact is that men in control of governments and religions were psychotic for over 3 hundred years. These white, straight men killed millions of women because they thought that superior women (definition for witch) were sleeping with the devil. This same jealous thinking and mental health, false belief is still present today." With a PMS remedy that is sure to please even the men women love the Vagabond Acting Troupe entertains audiences with a vaudevillian burlesque musical exploring several perspectives, including a look at the legal PMS Defense. Dr. Jeanette, SexuallyFIT columnist in PhillyFIT, picks up where the show leaves off, showing audiences how strong women carry their groceries on top of their head - and that strength is also what makes it possible for powerful women to laugh at the fear some people have about the natural process of menstruation and the residual pre-menstrual symptoms. Jeanette asserts that “This human body approach is what sparks the fire that creates Killer Self Esteem, a superior pms remedy. Effective self help solutions for mental health must include the human body. This applies equally to the men who still retain false beliefs and women who wish to improve their mental health and self esteem.” Jeanette will also be offering several copies of her self-help tapes to audience members after the talk-back as a fundraising effort for the creation of the non-profit theatre companies creation of original works that deal with important societal issues.
