Good Evening is opening play in Act II 2005-06 Season

British film and stage stars Peter Cook and Dudley Moore performed “Good Evening”, a hilarious review on Broadway in 1973, and Act II Playhouse is recreating it “Philly Style” as the play that launches their 2005-06 season. at Act II Playhouse. The show opens with preview performances September 16-22 (opening night is September 23) and runs through October 16. The 2005-06 season is sponsored by Sunrise Assisted Living of Dresher, PA.

Starring is Tony Braithwaite, who co-starred in the wildly popular “Big Bang” last season at Act II and Chris Faith. The show is directed by Peter Pryor. Co-founder and Artistic Director of 1812 Productions.

All weekday performances (except opening night) will begin at 8 PM; the Sunday performances are at 2 PM. There will be Wednesday matinees on October 5 and 12 at 2 PM. There will be Tuesday performances on September 20 and 27 (normally the theatre is dark on Mondays and Tuesdays). For tickets call the playhouse at 215-654-0200 or you may purchase them at the box office at 56 East Butler Avenue in Ambler, PA. Prices range from $20-to-$32 depending on the performance.

Employing literate wit and razor-edged satire, the show includes a take-off on the Nativity, a homosexual Othello, a one-legged man auditioning for the role of Tarzan and the perils of running a two-course restaurant on the English Moors.
