New at the Delaware Shakespeare Festival: Date Night and Family Matinees For Immediate Release: July 12, 2005 The Delaware Shakespeare Festival announces exciting new events at this year's Festival. Friday night performances of Love's Labour's Lost on July 22, July 29 and August 5 will be Date Night at the Festival. Couples on a date will receive a discounted rate of two tickets for $10. "Love's Labour's Lost is an exceptionally witty romantic comedy", says Artistic Director Molly Cahill. "We want to encourage couples to skip the movies and enjoy live theatre under the stars." The 5 p.m. Sunday performances, July 24 and 31, will be Family Matinees at the Festival. One child 10 and under will be admitted free with an accompanying adult admission. Families wishing to bring younger children are encouraged to on these evenings. In addition to regular pre-show activities, there will be demonstrations of stage combat and a table of activities for children. "Family-friendly Shakespeare has been our mission since inception," says Greg Robleto, Managing Director. "We are thrilled to be taking that next step, having specific dates that are geared towards bringing the whole family." The Delaware Shakespeare Festival will present Love's Labour's Lost on July 22, 23, 29, 30 and August 5, 6 at 7 p.m. and July 24 and 31 at 5 p.m. Audiences are encouraged to arrive an hour prior to dine and enjoy pre-show activities.
