Delaware Theatre Company Invites You To "Think Barefoot" And Have A Ball

For Immediate Release: March 31, 2005
Media Contact: Patricia Dill, Delaware Theatre Company, 302.594.1104 x228

Delaware Theatre Company will hold its 19th annual Barefoot Ball on Friday night, April 8th from 6-10pm at the Bank One Center on the Riverfront.

Barefoot Ball 2005, a major DTC fundraising event, features microbrews and food from nineteen Delaware brew pubs and restaurants, a silent auction, exotic body-painting, and live music from The Chad Hollister Band. Admission is $35 in advance, and $50 on the day of the event. Guests must be 21 or older. Tickets are available through DTC's Box Office (302) 594-1100 or online at www.delawaretheatre.org. (Internet sales will not be accessible on the day of the event.)

With the invaluable sponsorship of Standard Distributing and First State Distributing Group, Barefoot Ball creates the ideal Friday "night out." Delaware Theatre Company combines the best of bar-hopping and dining out by bringing the brew pubs and restaurants into one large venue and eliminating the hassle of cover charges. Guests enjoy unlimited microbrew samples and food tastings from renowned vendors, including Conley Ward's Steakhouse, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Harry's Seafood Grill, Home Grown Cafi, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, and Klondike Kate's, Lapp's Kitchen, The Red Room, Timothy's on the Riverfront, and Victory Brewing Company, to name a few.

Another distinct characteristic of every DTC fundraiser is the silent auction. This year's auction catalog presents a plethora of items that range from gift certificates for classy local restaurants to sports memorabilia, from memberships to cultural areas of interest to original artwork.

Unique to Barefoot Ball 2005 will be exotic body-painting by Mitchell Poulouin and his SYBARITES enterprise. Mitchell and SYBARITES have primarily worked on nightclub and special events projects in the Greater Philadelphia area and music festivals along the East Coast. Mitchell has been working professionally as a body-painting artist for 26 years, and his extensive portfolio includes Mardi Gras, Renaissance Festivals in Pennsylvania, Maryland & Ohio, as well as professional opera, Broadway shows, and films. Unlike many artists in this craft, Mitchell and SYBARITES "only utilize theatrical, waterbase, hypoallergenic makeup, not paint." For additional information regarding SYBARITES, contact Mitchell Poulouin at (302) 791-0493.

Barefoot Ball guests will also party to live music from The Chad Hollister Band. Chad has opened for rock icons Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, and he has jammed with big names like The Violent Femmes, Trey Anastasio, and Blues Traveler. The band will play two sets and guarantee a rare blend of "acoustic rock, reggae-funk and melodic-groove." More information about The Chad Hollister Band and tour dates can be found online at www.chadmusic.com.
