Costume Designers, Upper Darby Summer Stage
Non-union. Upper Darby Summer Stage, one of the nation’s most successful youth theater programs for 35 seasons seeks creative and flexible COSTUME DESIGNERS to join our 17 member costume staff to design and build one of our six children’s theater musicals. The designer is the primary seamstress for the costumes but has access to a professional stitcher and four college age interns as well as an extensive costume inventory. Desirable is an interest to teach motivated teens plus a degree or college coursework in costume design and construction. Four week commitment between June 21 through August 20. Non-union. The Delaware Shakespeare Festival seeks a Production Manager for 2010. DSF is a professional, non-Equity theatre company that performs outdoors at historic Rockwood Mansion Park in Wilmington, DE. This is a year-round position. It is not full-time for most of the year with the exception of July. Though DSF only performs one production each year, the Production Manager works to provide support pre-production, post-production, and for other Festival programs. Puppet, costume, set designers, Public Eye: Artists for Animals
Non-union. A performance to raise awareness about the health dangers of a process called "fracking" used to drill for natural gas. Toxic chemicals leach into the water causing disease in wildlife, destroying the ecosystem, and contaminating our drinking water. Energy companies are currently leasing private land as well as public parkland to drill in Northeastern Pennsylvania, which will affect the Schuylkill and Delaware Rivers, and ultimately Philadelphia. Public Eye is planning a performance and parade on May 15 at the Rotunda in W.Philly to educate people about fracking. We are seeking puppeteers, costume and set designers. The successful candidate will be a committed professional lighting designer and an effective undergraduate instructor with an interest in teaching courses in lighting as well as specialty courses. 1-1 course load plus designing one theatrical production per semester.
